When the Soviet Revolution started in 1917, the Delaunays had to face serious financial issues — for they mainly lived on Sonia’s Russian family support. Besides of collaborating with the Russian Ballet with stage and costume designs, the family found a new source of income on fashion. Spanish aristocrats loved Sonia’s style for clothes and decorative objects and she founded Casa Sonia, a successful boutique, in the most important cities of the country.
